The Railing Loom,
What is it, and what makes it different?

The Railing Loom system is Cable Railings, Evolved.

Introducing The distinctive, versatile, high performance Cable Railing System

Two Railing Looms replace all cable hardware

The Railing Loom gives your posts    space

Two Looms and one strand of cable  weave each cable panel
each panel "floats" between your posts
Just like matting in a picture frame, The Railing Loom gives
space
between your posts and the cable

Free your posts from the hardware that so easily entwines!
Allow them
to be the columns they were meant to be!

The Railing Loom creates individual cable panels that are tensioned between posts, replacing all of the typical tensioning hardware and “insulating” the posts from the busyness of all cable crossing.
Each cable panel is created with one strand of cable that weaves back and forth between two Looms, and easily tensions all of the cable at once.

Clean and Distinctive, individual cable panels “framed” by the posts and handrail.

The Railing Loom provides a huge, evolutionary jump in the look, performance and installation of cable railings!

TESTIMONIALS

What They’re Saying

Thank you Ray. The railing both in Livingston and Hebgen look unbelievable! We appreciate your work and will have a check sent out today!

Cheers,

“I have been very pleased with the cable railing installed on my deck.  It's been 2 years and nothing has changed--still in perfect condition.  The workmanship is excellent and the cables are still taut.  It is strong enough to withstand a bear walking around the perimeter after emptying my bird feeder.  Well done!”

We are very pleased with the new rail system Ray installed. Every other year we refinished the old log railing we had and they still looked shabby after a winter season. New rails also surprised us in that our amazing views in Big Sky significantly improved, allowing us to see more trees and mountains than log railing! And Ray is amazing to work with-- very professional, communicating the status of the project in a timely fashion and he's an artist in his craft. We couldn't be happier. If you are looking to rid yourself of constant maintenance and update the look of your home, you can't go wrong with this system.

ABOUT

Greetings,
I am Ray Melling, founder of E&A Build, and the creator of the Railing Loom cable railing system.
I have a wife and two very beautiful teenage daughters, and they are why I do what I do (in fact, my daughters were the inspiration for my company name).
I have lived in or near Bozeman Montana and supported myself and family by my work in the construction industry for over 30 years. Most of that time has been spent as a residential remodeling contractor. I have always (well, most always) enjoyed remodeling work. Taking something apart, then making it better.
“Creation is my Superpower”.
I am an innovator. I get no joy from taking shortcuts, but I get great satisfaction when I can create something that is beautiful, practical, and long lasting. If there is a way to do it better, you’ll find me doing my best to make it happen.
The Railing Loom is a fine example of that. After installing other cable railing systems, I knew that there had to be a better way. I have worked on it over many years, refining and improving the system, each project a little better than the last. Now it is at a point that I can market the system, for installation by myself and others.  Even so, as far as refining and innovating… I don’t imagine that I will ever stop.
The Railing Loom, Patent Pending, will not be my first patent (assuming that we are successful). But, so far, it is my favorite!
